About Me
Hi, I’m Zach! I’m that guy who gets way too excited about solving problems with code and explaining how things work.
I’m a Senior Solutions Architect at Microsoft these days, which basically means I spend my time figuring out how to build stuff that actually works in the real world. Before this, I was hands on as a Software Engineer for over a decade, getting into the weeds with everything from cloud systems to backend architectures that needed to just not break.
I’ll be honest. It took me 8 years to finish my Computer Science degree at UPitt. Life happened, priorities shifted, but I kept plugging away at it. And you know what? The learning definitely didn’t stop when I walked across that stage.
I’m constantly reading something new, tinkering with some project, or falling down rabbit holes trying to understand how things tick. There’s nothing quite like that moment when something finally clicks and you go “Oh, THAT’S how it works!”
The thing is, I think tech writing is often way more complicated than it needs to be. When I write here, I try to break things down the way I’d explain them to a friend over coffee. That means untangling Kubernetes networking, debugging some DNS weirdness, or walking through design patterns.
When I’m not staring at a screen, I’m usually chasing around my daughter, hanging out with my wife, or being chasing our two dogs and two cats. I also enjoy getting my hands dirty with house projects. I’ve replaced my hot water tank, completely renovating rooms, and changing the oil on my car.
So whether you’re here to troubleshoot a config file, get inspired by architecture patterns, or just find someone who speaks your tech language I welcome you. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope my words help you learn something new or just feel a little more confident tackling your next challenge.
Thanks for joining me, and hope to see you around.
